Assessor Training: Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment
About this course
The course is designed for those who need to understand the process of assessment and prepare them to achieve the award which is formed of one QCF unit: Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment.
The course comprises a one day workshop which will introduce the following:
- The role of assessment in the delivery of qualifications
- The principles that underpin effective assessment
- The assessment process
- Assessment methods
- The role of the assessor
- How assessment works in a range of different contexts
- Quality assurance within the assessment process
- An introduction to the units of assessment listed above
Achieving this qualification
We recommend that learners complete the Assessor Training Workshop as a prerequisite. Once this is completed learners will receive an individual assessment plan to outline the evidence that is required to achieve the QCF unit: Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment and the named Award. The primary source of evidence will be a unit report to illustrate your understanding of the assessment criteria specified within the unit.
Once completed your unit report will be assessed by one of our team of assessors. The assessment will determine if the evidence presented is relevant, reliable and sufficient to meet the requirements of the unit.
The course is available either as a bespoke course or via open courses. It can be arranged and run at short notice anywhere in the country for any number of learners. Contact us for details of the next available course.
The cost of this qualification is £400 plus vat: which covers attending an open course, unit assessment, verification and Awarding Organisation fees. Bespoke courses are costed on an individual basis depending on exact requirements.
